HARDTAPE
HardTape is setting the new standard for removable storage media.
- High capacity (40-250GB)
- High performance (>400Mbps; >50MB/s)
- Lightweight (<8 oz.)
- Rugged (>5,000G)
- Compatible with all operating systems,
including Windows, Mac, & Linux
HardTape cartridges utilize state-of-the-art hard
disk drives to provide capacity and performance surpassing tape,
optical, and other removable media. The patented packaging
technology results in a lightweight and compact package designed to
withstand the rigors of the "real world" mobile environment. The
5,000G shock rating exceeds the MIL-STD-810F drop test specification
and allows you to drop it in a Fedex envelope and securely move
250GB+ of data across the country overnight.
There are several specialized HardTape
product lines available as well:
-
High Speed:
HardTape cartridges utilizing 7,200rpm disk
drives with capacities of 60, 80, & 100GB. Sustained data transfer
rates up to 60% faster (400Mps; 50MB/s) than standard
cartridges.
-
Extended Temperature: HardTape cartridges utilizing
"automotive" disk drives with capacities of 40, 60, &
80GB, an
operating temperature range of -30oC to +85oC,
and a 200% improvement in operational vibration (3G's).
-
Small form factor: HardTape cartridges based on 1.8"
disk drives with capacitates of 20, 40, 60, & 80GB. A smaller
footprint (-30%) and lighter weight with the same robust shock and
vibration performance. The perfect solution when space is at a
premium and every ounce counts.
All of the HardTape cartridges are compatible
with the extensive array of cable, bay, tower, and rack mount
connectivity options allowing you to access your data through
virtually any of the existing interface standards and ensuring
compatibility with any future interface development.

MEDIAPAC
MediaPac is setting the new standard for
"tapeless" workflow. MediaPac cartridges utilize patented
packaging technology to provide excellent shock and vibration
protection and incorporate state-of-the art 2.5" disk drive
technology for unsurpassed performance.

- Up to 9 hours recording time
(@DV25)
- Download at 10 times real time
- Eliminate capturing or digitizing
- High capacity (40-120GB)
- High performance (>320Mbps; >40MB/s)
- Lightweight (<8 oz)
- Rugged (>5,000G)
-
Compatible with all operating systems
including Windows, MAC, & Linux
The MediaPac cartridge is the core of a
unique, affordable IT-based tapeless workflow. The MediaPac
cartridge has been adopted for tapeless acquisition by Hitachi and
nNovia in their ZDR-1 camera back and QC Deck SD/HD DVR,
respectively. Its use in the downstream (edit, transport, playout,
archive) workflow is made possible by the wide range of cable,
tower, and rack mount connectivity options available.

SOLIDTAPE
SolidTape is form, fit, function
compatible with the HardTape and MediaPac cartridges above. It uses
solid state SLC NAND memory instead of a hard disk drive allowing it
to perform in a much wider range of operating conditions.
- Operating Vibration (>15G)
 - Operating Temperature (-25oC to +85oC)
- Operating Altitude (>80,000 feet)
- High performance (>500Mbps; >40MB/s)
- High capacity (up to 64GB)
- Rugged-shock (>1,500G Operating; >5,000G NonOp)
-
Compatible with all operating systems
including Windows, MAC, & Linux
Standard SolidTape cartridges
with 8, 12, & 16GB capacity are currently available and provide
excellent performance and more flexibility than other solid state
alternatives. An 8GB SolidTape cartridge was recently used to record
the cockpit video during for the record setting run during the
International Motorcycle Land Speed Trials at the Bonneville Salt
Flats. During one run the front tire on the motorcycles blew at over
350 mph, despite the severe shaking the footage was captured to the
SolidTape cartridge without a single drop out.
SolidTape cartridges
can be custom ordered in capacities up to 64GB, data transfer rates
of >70MB/s, and operating temperature ranges of -55oC to
+95oC allowing them to be employed in virtually any
application. The ability to use HardTape and SolidTape cartridges
interchangeably allows for a reduction in the total cost of storage
as SolidTape can be used for critical operations, while more
cost-effective HardTape cartridges can be used for maintenance,
training, and data management operations.

CABLES
"Many Interface Standards, but No Standard Interface"
Easily connect your HardTape, MediaPac, or SolidTape cartridge
to USB 2.0, Firewire-400, PCMCIA, CardBus, SATA, or e-SATA port by simply
changing the cable. With cables being developed for all of the new
interfaces (FW800, POE, Gig-E, etc.) you will always have access to
your data. The cables all have the same 36-pin multi-insertion
connector that latches securely to the cartridge and all of the
cables except for the SATA and e-SATA provide power to the cartridge
as well.

BAYS
"Many Interface
Standards, but No Standard Interface"
HardTape bays are the same size as a
floppy disk drive or a standard 3.5" disk drive allowing for
easy integration into existing PCs and servers.
-
Internal IDE, USB, & SATA -
Plug and play with almost any hardware and operating
system combination. "Hot-swap" performance allows easy exchange
of cartridges. Install a bay in place of an embedded system hard
drive and remove the cartridge for quick hardware
declassification.
-
50-pin Narrow & 68-pin Wide SCSI -
Bays with these popular legacy interfaces allow for form, fit,
function replacement of obsolete SCSI hard drives or tape drives
with high capacity, high performance cartridges.
-
External USB, Firewire, & SATA -
Allows
connection to other devices (DVR's, PVR's, NLE's, etc.) providing easy access to your data or video
without time consuming data transfers. An ideal option for systems
(i.e. Macs) that do not have easy access to internal mounting
slots.
